Easy! Good marketing. I used to work for Starbuckscamthepyro wrote:Seriously. Why does no one yell at starbucks for charging 4 bucks for a cup of coffee?

Starbucks sells high priced coffee because it can. It's convinced consumers that it sells a high-class drink, that their employees are expertly trained in all things coffee, and its simply trendy and upscale to drink there.
Most people dont like coffee at regular coffee houses because, amazingly, most of THEIR drinks have an abundant amount of something most consumers dont like....coffee!
90% of the people at Starbucks drink very, very little coffee. Its mostly heated milk and sugary flavored goodness. Regular good old coffee? There are almost no sales there, and with a brewing turn-over of about 20-30 minutes, most of it is thrown in the trash. In the south, Starbucks sells a lot of cold drinks. Frapuccino anyone? The 'coffee' in there is a processed sugary powder, no beans for you! Many of the cold drinks do not have coffee at all.
Starbucks has only 'selected' coffee growing areas in mostly third world countries. They claim they best coffee comes from there, what they dont tell you is that it comes with cheap labor and low cost.
Starbucks isnt about selling coffee, its about brilliant marketing and business strategies. Thats what you are paying through the nose for.
