Paul, I don't have any experience with the modulars, but I would recommend the Scorpion. I have a few riding friends who wear them, and they rave about them. They seem to be a high-quality lid without the high-quality price. Maybe it's because they are a realtively new company, and as such need to be very competitive to get their product out there. Snatch one up before demand drives up the price!
I'm kind of kicking myself for not buying one instead of my HJC. It seems I could have got a better lid for roughly the same money. I just didn't know much about them when I was shopping.

I just bought a scorpion ex-700 and am very happy with it. I was going from a cheap $100 zamp helmet so it's a huge step up for me but it's much quieter, fits very well, and the venting seems to be very functional.
i tried on some helmets today. i found that the large scorpian fit well, but for most of the other ones i tried on, i found that mediums fit better. then with a shoie, the med was way too tight, but the large seemed to fit well. so my question is, is this a common thing? is a large scorpian different then a large helmet from a different manufacturer? i hope that is clear. thanks.
I've been wearing a Nolan 100E (flip) for almost 3 years now. Great helmet. Very comfortable for a more "round" head like mine. My husband has a long "tall" head (lol) and he couldn't stand it on his head. I think it's pretty quiet, but then again I have nothing to compare it to. It's the only kind of helmet I've ever known. I like that the latches are made of metal instead of plastic like his HJC.

What helmet does he wear? I too am a victim of tall headedness and my helmet routinely develops pressure points at the top of my forehead after 40 or so minutes of riding. I need a new one but don't know what to look for!

Try the HJC brand. He's had 2 different ones, the Symax and the CL-14 (I think) and they both fit his head well. Good luck!
I have the symax by HJC.
I get some wind noise, but it is liveable.
After a day (+) trying helmets, this is the only one that fit me. When I E-mailed my bother and sister, it seems we all got the same brand/model helmet without knowing it. We must all have that hard-to-fit head.
