Looking for some input on the v-twin sport bikes

if all you want is maximum low end torque look at the MT-01 and V-Max.

I dont think that any other bike has beaten the V-Maxs top gear roll on time.

Wait a minute? Four cylinders with no bottom end? You must have a lot of friends with 600's. Have you ridden a PREVIOUS generation R1? No, not that new one with the pipes under the seat and the 200,000 rpm engine...the old ones like the 2000-2003 version. That bike has more 'right now' snap than an SV, TL (S and R), RC51, all the Ducs, etc. It doesn't sound like you are looking at full-on sportbikes, so look at the PREVIOUS generation FZ-1 (the new one is based on the new R1 motor and is too top-end heavy). Again, more 'instant snap' in the throttle than any of the twins. Better yet, try a Kawasaki ZRX 1200 or a NEW Triumph Speed Triple. Again, more 'guts' on the bottom than any of the twins. It sounds like you need more riding buddies with all type bikes...or a lot of shops with demo rides near your house. I agree that the sound of the twins is intoxicating, and most of the sporting fours (even literbikes...except the new GSXR 1000) are now too top-end focused to enjoy on the street at real-world speeds. But don't discount them all...and don't believe everything you see in a magazine or on a dyno chart. Get out there and RIDE some of the other stuff. Try a Hayabusa...it isn't a twin and it is a bottom-end hoot! I bought in to the dyno charts and got fooled!!!! I just sold my 2005 ZX-10 because it was DEAD on the bottom. I don't care what the roll-on numbers SAY....I care how a bike FEELS...and my new ZRX1200 FEELS better when I snap the throttle in top gear than my 10 ever did. Go ahead...tell me I'm wrong...but get out there and ride some stuff so you can decide for yourself. Good luck.....

I'm pretty sure bottem end means below 10000 rpm.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I don't think the MT-01 is available in the states. Many bikes have bested the Max's roll-on time.

You are wrong with a couple of your claims. NO inline four comes on at as low of an RPM as the v-twins, nor do any of them have as flat of a torque curve. This is the sole purpose of a v-twin. There may be bikes that feel like they have more snap, but they really don't. Also, I just finished reading an article that said the Triumph triple COULD NOT match the low end grunt of the VTR. As far as how the bikes feel, you could very well be right about that. I haven't ridden any of the bikes you've mentioned.

I haven't ridden one since the first model year so I could be wrong looking back ten years. It seemed to have alot more than any other 4 cylinder bike that I had ridden at the time....

It did, but it still isn't comparible to the v-4's or v-twins.

what about the Fj1200s? I just got mine and havnt ridden it really yet, but I heard in thier day they were quite the torquey machine. Its an aircooled inline 4.
