Plug Leads

#1 Unread post by shoey949 »

I'm interested in putting on new spark plug leads and plug caps on my '73 honda twin. Is there any way to run new leads or am I screwed b/c they seem to be attached to the coils be some sort of adhesive? What sort of wire and caps do I need, as far as resistance, and what not?

Thanks Nate

Most coils have the leads attached this way. The core of the lead is screwed onto the output pin of the coil, and then glued in to hold it tight. If you can break the bond and thread the lead off, it should become fairly clear.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

Any cycle shop will have new boots I use NGK Boots they usually cost me around $1.50 each and a few feet of wire is around another $1.00.

Ask for a good wire and if so go to your local auto parts store and ask for a few feet of 8.8 graphite cored wire. I've found it to improve spark and last a lot longer.

Good Luck!!!

and get out riding!
