I have worn my leather jacket on an 80 degree day and was a little hot but still comfortable as long as I was moving, and this is on a bike with a large windscreen.

I was thinking about getting a mesh jacket for summer but my leather jacket did just fine in 80 degree weather so ill just use it in the summer too. Will just keep the windscreen off once it stays warm all the time.

I _always_ wear fullface helmet and synthetic jacket and biker boots and almost always wear chaps (no matter how hot it is out.. keeping in mind I'm in canada). I don't want my face (or anything else) to turn into "hamburger"... no way.

But I'm still worried about one thing: chaps dont cover your bum :?

I ride a cruiser and wear either a Scorpoin EXO 700 Fury w/ Chrome Smoke shield or an HJC 1/2 helmet. I also have a black leather jacket and a new black leather vest for real hot days. I also have a black and blue Joe Rocket mesh jacket. I wear whatever combination I like depending on weather and where I'll be riding. I always wear the Scorpion when I know I'm going on the freeway. For the most part, when people Zig, I Zag!

Here in NZ most people wear Full-Face helmets... bearing in mind that we ride all-year-round. Some HD riders will wear open-face but I tend to think its a bit of an image thing (thats just my opinion tho). When I hired a Hog in Canada last yr they were stunned when I wanted a FF helmet and I had to make do with a stoopid half thing that just felt SO unsafe... In Summer I ride in FF, Leather jkt (either Joe Rocket /Alpine Stars), Jeans, full gloves and HD boots. Winter is the same but leather trou instead of jeans. Lately I have been riding with alot of Sports bikes and those guys are ALWAYS in full kit. And yep! they are sweltering in the heat...
Each to their own I guess ;-) :motorcycle:
BTW you can't get Joe Rocket over here, I bought mine in Canada and just LOVE it!

Always wore full face on my previous two bikes, CB-750 and SV-1000...then got my VTX...now I run with a 1/2 HJC helmet. It just feels better to me.

aND i have been through a high speed crash on the SV and can tell you the FF helped a lot...but still I wear the 1/2 helmet now.

Go figure.

I ride a cruiser. I wear a full face helmet, armoured jacket and proper gloves at all times. In the riding club, all the members have cruisers and about half wear full face helmets.

The uniform is what you make it. Be as safe as you can.

I wear what I've always worn . It is what I am comfortable with .
I think everyone should do the same . If you are comfortable in full gear then by all means wear it .
If you're like me or Zoo or a few others ...............well nuff ' said .
Regards, Wizzard

It doesn't look goofy at all. Pretty much all the bikers around here wear full face regardless of their ride... well everyone but the weekend warrior chopper guys  . Really it is the most practical kind of helmet for all weather protection.

I guess I dress similar to what Basshole said. But hey if you want the image, go with the image.
