click me to see the CX500

a CX500 that competes in vintage racing. From what I read on the CX500 forum this guy finished 3rd in this race, was only beat by a pair of literbikes.

Definately gives me a few ideas for my bike

its all about the rider ...and yep changing the style of a CX is a great IDEA. back in the UK we used to call them MAGGOTS, basicly cause you would never see one in nice condition cause they allways had Hundreds of MILES on the clocks and they were a DISPATCH riders work horse, the turbo version was called a plastic maggot.

The gixxer is sweet. I want to do something like that eventually, maybe for my next bike. Do you have a blog, or anything documenting what you did to it?

Wait, where? You don't have a blog (or if you do I can't find it).

Definately makes me want to follow through with my plans to turn my CX into either a cafe racer or street fighter (or more likely some combo of the two)

Just plan ahead, Measure twice CUt once, have a IDEA of how you want the machine to look like, and have some resourses, tools, cash, and a place to work.

Yep. A pair of squids on GL1000s

Seriously that would be fun if you were competing with similar bikes. The CX was SLOW even in it's day, so there weren't too many bikes out there of comparable performance..... Still one of my favorite engine layouts however. Thats my twisted side showing through......
