High_side you are a moderator so I'm surprised that you would step into this.
Nothing I said was incoherent. What I wanted to get across was clear. You didn't agree with it which is why you attacked me.

First off what type of bike do I ride? Oh the answer is you don't know? Hint.
One of them is brand new (2006 600cc but still full blown sportbike and I've had 2 liter bikes). The reason I'm so hard on Verm, was most of my crew was just like him (ok me included). And 2 of them are dead. Another one is missing one leg. The rest of us are just fine, and as I mentioned I still ride sportbikes. I just wish someone made me see the light earlier.

The fact that you think its about jealousy shows you still think its about style. Last time I check its easy for anyone with $ to buy any bike on the market. Why would I be jealous, we are talking about a bike on the order of $10k so what makes them so hard to obtain? The point is what I am saying is true, and since I love motorcycling I do as much as I can to put the art in a respectable light.

Every time I try to get someone new into motorcycling I have to hear the horror stories, or the example of some squid on a liter bike either wheeling down the street or going 120mph down the highway.

I want many more people to love motorcycling as much as I do, and believe it or not I want Verm to be alive. He is going down a path many of us here have. Some are lucky and can just say 'I did it' and make it seem like it wasn't foolish. I can say that 'I did it' and I was foolish. You don't like what I'm saying your problem not mine. I still rather hit Verm with all angles as obviously he has already been informed about how 'cool' riding a big engine sportbike is.

If you are in michigan one day High_side I'll show you a few of my bikes so you can see how jealous I am. Then again I rather not as you may become jealous, and I suspect you aren't the type to admit you were wrong.

P.S. The horse has been beat to life just now.

OMFG i can't believe this topic has reached this many pages.

being new here i can still see there didn't need to be this many pages.

- obviously Verm knows his choice of bike will not be agreed with by everyone.
- i think he probably started this post to show he understood some of the concerns, but still won't concede that it might not be the best choice
- i don't think he wants to "settle" for any bike other than the one he desires and this is his right as a rider
- i personally don't agree with his choice for many reasons already mentioned in this and many other threads, but again it's his decision and i will at least respect him for realising 1000cc might be a bit much to get again
- i think he also wanted to gain a little BBFame since love or hate him, you know who he is

this is one of those threads that doesn't do much than measure everyone's e-peen, none of us will agree totally and it will just degenerate to bad blood between posters.

Mods, lock this thread it's got so many forks in it, there isn't much left to debate.

As a moderator I stepped in when you got to name calling. My "attack" as you put it, was a response to a low value post that did nothing more than attack the kid for buying G1K. It was post #98765 doing the exact same thing and really appeared to be jumping on the bandwagon of kicking someone when they were down. Your response to my post tries to paint the picture of how you were trying so save this young man from himself illustrated with descriptions of your fallen friends, but there was none of that in your original post. "You suck" was not painting that picture, and this isn't what the spirit of this forum is all about

I am quite willing when I am wrong.......it just hasn't happened yet
