The Cyclone alarm is pretty incredible because it crams just about everything Scorpio has into a much smaller case! But the real kicker is the Cyclone tilt sensor: rated at 50,000g! I wrote the company and they claim they used to use the same Analog Devices tilt chip that Scorpio still uses, but they dropped it after experiencing 30% defect rates! Supposedly, the Analog Devices chip is based on MEMS technology (tiny moving parts). The tiny teeth can get jamed at shocks of 1,000g to 3,000g. Since the Cyclone tilt chip has no moving parts, the company claims it has been tested to endure much more intense shock than Analog Devices.
The Cyclone people also have distribution in the US, Canada and other countries. Their FAQ is pretty detailed too. They also allow you to download their manuals, but the Scorpio site doesn't! The best part about the company is that they will offer you a detailed comparison with other alarms if you write them. You will need to specify which alarms you want a comparison on.
