Its getting confusing with all the Suzuki models naming their bikes with the cubic inch size of the engine, like the C50, S83, M109 and nobody knows what the metric size is in cc's. My bike is the M50 and im always getting asked what does the "50" mean? Some people think the "50" means 50cc. I get so sick and tired of everybody asking me that I give up and tell them "yea its 50cc", but the only thing they understand is my bike is 805cc's. People just don't understand the difference in inches or centimeters.

I think that's pretty funny, because just looking at the bike you'd need to be a TOTAL idiot to think that wasa 50cc engine. I'm not sure what sort of people you're talking to, but enforced sterilization might be an option there
Okay, that was harsh, but if they ask, just say it's American.
OR
It's 50 CI (Cubic Inches)
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
How do guys riding a Victory 100 live with that? I mean, if you can get a 250 virago a 100 Victory doesn't seem totally out of line. Underpowered, sure, but everyone knows those riceburners have powerful engines compared to american pig iron.
LOL
edit BTW... NOBODY except motorcyclists have any expectations about power from size. My 250 ninja gets exactly the same reactions (and respect, if any) from the general public as my 1100cc yamaha... both get a "must be really fast" type reaction.
saw a question in motorcycle mechanics some years back from a young guy,had just bought his first bike but was a little conused,as when he bought it ,he was told it was 100cc but on the engine it was stamped 2000cc.would have loved to have seen his face when it was explained the 2000cc referred to the amount of oil to put in the engine.xjrjohn
biking isnt a matter of life or death, its far more important(bill shankley, well almost)
it could be still be confusing... take a look at the VentoVThunder 1400
1400 milliliters of oil...but dang does it sound HUGE! hehe
