A newbie buddy of mine had two low speed drops on his [bike censored to protect the innocent]. He had good boots, but was wearing jeans. His knee got banged up pretty good each time.

In addition to buying pants, he named his bike "Tonya" to remind himself.

Tonya Harding? Remember her?

I did a 50kmh get off and got some pretty serious road rash to my right near over a year ago... it still looks really bad, it's never going to look normal.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I'm getting one of these for the summer:

Six-Six-One Pressure suit. Ventilated CE armor, mesh fabric, built in back and chest protector.

I figured I'd throw a loose shirt over the top and wear Draggin' Jeans on the bottom. I'll have everyone fooled into thinking I'm dressed like a squid  [/img]

Good lord this girl is lucky to be alive!

As far as your friend is concerned, im afraid your attempt will be in vain. Im sure she's already aware of the dangers of riding a motorcyle with out gear. It's nothing new that pavament hurts. Thing is, it's her choice... Take my sister for example she rides without gear, when she took the MSF class there was a guy there with no "O Ring" because he fell off the back of a bike as a passenger without gear, he was wearing shorts. His wounds were nice and fresh for the class. Did it change her mind? nope...

"Tonya"... that's a good one...

I dunno about others, but I find women's gear as of late sexy as hell. I buy my girlfriend riding gear on its looks alone, but most are so well designed that they're now more protective than ever.

Along with others comment, I'll second/third that you may not be able to influence her through verbal or even visual examples. But I bet you can with some nice looking gear that you've bought for yourself.

With so much press now-a-days on skin, I think it's refreshing to see gear that fits and looks good on a woman. Kinda makes the motorcyling ladies stand out as a motorcycler rather than just a passive rider.

The major downside of womens gear (even the new stuff that does fit like its supposed to) is you cant get any of it in plus sizes.

My wife would like better gear than she has but would have to have it custom made, she currently wears helmet, gloves, regular leather jacket (she wants an armored jacket but they dont make em in her size, unless she gets a mens jacket which is way too long in the sleeves), jeans and hiking boots. She would like a pair of draggin jeans but they are not available in plus sizes.

The only armored womens jacket that comes in her size is the HD FXRG jacket which is a complete joke of a motorcycle jacket, the leather is paper thin (weighs about half what my teknic jacket weighs) and the armor is worthless.
