Where do you get your motorcycle inspected? Does any shop that does inspections do it or do I need a special one?

Need to get my bike's yearly inspection done...don't know where to go!

I'm pretty sure you need to go to an athourized shop in your state. Most dealerships with shops do it.

I was afraid of that...guess I'll start calling the Harley dealerships. Somehow I get the feeling this is going to end up taking all day to get this thing inspected.

I found a local shop that does it. My state website had a locator for inspection shops. Thanks!

Andy, in some states, you have to get your motorcycle/car/trailer safety inspected. This just means that the tires, lights, brakes, steering head bearings, and fork seals are safe. It costs $9.10 here in NC.
Does anyone know if bike's in any state are being sniffed yet? I think it will be widespread in 2008. I wonder if there will be a grandfather clause on that one?
CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE REGULARLY!!!

Here in Pennsylvania they are strict on the yearly motorcycle inspection, that little saftey decal on the gas tank? If thats missing it won't pass, and if ur bike has more than 3 different colors painted on the bike, it won't pass, if the lens on ur turn signal is cracked but it still works, it won't pass, even if the licence plate bolts are not either chrome, stainless steel or plastic bolts, it won't pass.

inspections are just a chance for state-sponsored theft... I once caught an "inspector" cutting my belts... he was going to claim that the belts were worn... but when he saw that I'd caught him with a knife in his hand he mutely replaced them. I also had an inspection shop totally SCREW UP the brakes on my car by pulling a "you can't leave until the brakes shoes are replaced" (they were new) and putting them in backwards.

For all the bad stuff you can say about California... at least we don't have that BS.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.
