customer service does not exist anymore, the only thing the salesman or the dealer cares about is themself, they don't care about you, they don't care what you think. I work in a field that deals with a lot of customer service, dealing with people, these people only care about their wants and needs and I only care about mine, the people I deal with everyday hate my guts, they don't care about me, if I would win a lottery and give these people $10 Million Dollars they would still hate my guts, so why should I go above and beyond the call of duty to impress them? Its a waste of time. Think of yourself working as a motorcycle salesman, hes out to make the best for himself, he don't care if you buy the bike or not, cash means nothing, some salesmen get an added commision if they get a loan from a certain bank or a certain credit card. The only way cash would help them if you didn't want a legal title for the bike. Never walk in to a motorcycle dealership thinking ur their only customer and expect royal treatment, too many guys make that mistake.

You shop at the wrong stores.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I've only been in two dealerships, one which I can't remember the name of, in Alpharetta, and WOW Motorcycles in Marietta. Everyone at both of them were pretty polite, but I had to stand around trying to get the sales guy's attention at WOW, and he used the old bait-and-switch tactic, and tried to get me to buy a new 250r, when i told him I was looking for a cheap used beater. But oh well, I might go in there when I get another bike eventually.

i think everyone will find one dealership/salesperson that they like over others. I have heard stories of people that hate Blackfoot here in calgary and people that wouldn't go anywhere else.

i personally have found a place i like (Bow Cycle) and keep going back, they have a stable couple people that work there and a lot of the "grunts" turn over every couple months, but so far it's been two bikes, three jackets, chaps, 2 pairs of gloves, 2 helmets etc. etc. from this one shop..but i am sure some people have had bad experience with them and would never set foot in the door.

They always cut me a deal when i go in and don't bullcrap me about things so i keep going back and referring people i know to them.

A bad experience travels faster and farther by word of mouth than a good review. Maybe their sales manager cares enough about your sale that he/she would make things right if you went in and told them about the crappy service you got...and if they don't care then you don't want to shop there.

B-Gump - I should clarify. I've had excellent service both there & at Argyll for gear but found the sales people a bit nicer at Argyll. Mind you, I wasn't really looking at the bikes at AB Cycle either so didn't have a lot to ask on those visits. IMO, both have a great selection of gear & acces compared to some of the other cycle shops in town.

when i went to WOW all they had was junk.i couldnt find one bike that didnt look like it was pieced together. everything way overpriced.never got any sales person to even look my way.craigslist seems the best way to go here.

motorcycle sales are up, they are thru the roof, anybody and everybody is buying bikes, most of the sales are from people that never owned a bike before, its the law of supply and demand, dealers are asking for and recieving the highest possible price they can get for a bike, why should they sell you a bike at a discount when the next guy thru the door will pay them their asking price? They don't care if you walk out,,, that same bike you wanted will sell. The only time you can get a good buy on a bike is late summer when the bike riding season is over.

Thats fine, they can sell every bike they have in stock. But I know there are some dealers i wont go into anymore because i was treated like crap, and i tell everyone i know that i was treated like crap there.

The first thing i tell salesperson i talk to is that im not buying a bike today, and that i'm leaving for Basic Training in three weeks, so i will buy when i get out. I have had one sales person actually stick by me and answer all of my questions. When i do get a bike, i hope i can grab one from that dealership because they treated me great. Any dealership who are complete "Donut Holes" to any person who walks in for any reason doesnt deserve to sell what they do.
