Motorcycle performance reviews

#1 Unread post by MidSSouth »

Is there a website that gives good performance data for the majority of the bikes out there. I'm mainly interested in the 0-60 and quarter mile speeds. Specifically I am looking for numbers on a Honda Shadow 650 and 750, the Honda VTXs, and the Kawasaki Ninja 650R, but seeing the competition would be nice.

The Honda 600 and 750 Shadow are slow and slower with a passenger on the back. The Honda VTX1800 is the quickest and fastest cruiser bike you can buy. The VTX1300 is about evenly matched with the Honda and Yamaha 1100. The Kawasaki 650 Ninja, don't know, but it should be as fast as the Yamaha FZ6, or the Suzuki SV650.

I thought that new Suzuki M109R was the fastest cruiser out there now.

I wouldn't expect them to handle well, thats why they're cruisers, lol. I wouldn't want one as a daily driver bike, but if I had two bikes, one would be a CBR600RR, and one would be a V-MAX.

I said the Rocket instead of the V-max because I consider the V-Max to be more of a standard (after sitting on one). I was just commenting on his assertion that the VTX 1800 is the fastest cruiser.

I was really stoked about the V-max not too long ago... until I sat on one last week. It felt too small for me. The pegs were too high and the bike was very top-heavy for a V-4. I was kinda dissapointed. I had actually planned on getting a used one in the future.. but that thought has passed.

Fast for a "cruiser"? Yep! They sure are! However, like I said, I consider them more of a standard bike.. it doesn't really sit like a cruiser.

I'll stick with my Interceptor. The VFR 750 I just picked up is almost as fast as a V-max, with a fraction of the displacement... and they are both V-4's! Plus, my money is on the Interceptor in the corners ;)
