Isn't it a fuel enrichener circuit, rather than a "choke" per se?

Yes - In that the choke lever connects by cable to a lever on the Air Flow Meters which fools the efi into thinking that the bike needs more gas (Without putting any more air into it)

The question really is - why the hell does it need it!? Is it that hard for them to put a temp sensor on the thing and just make it an automatic function!?!?

(I'm just disgruntled because this particular bike is giving me problems :laughing: )

Every set of carbs off a bike I've seen or worked on are all "enrichment" circuits, not true chokes. Not that I've seen a whole heck of a lot, mind you...
