Today's group ride pictures

#1 Unread post by Skier »

Ran into a local rider on the way to class and suggested we take a ride. Some phone calls and internet postings later, five of us showed up at the meeting place to enjoy the perfect 75 degree day. While we were BSing in the parking lot, a guy on a nice new cruiser came up after gassing his rig up and we pulled him along for the ride, too.

Nice 45 mile ride later, we stopped at a parking lot back in town for pictures and more BSing. Great group of people, it's one of the best reasons to start riding. :)

Pictures!

Chris, who works for the university I go to, and his '04 R6:

Tracey. She rides a nice looking 750 cruiser.

Kerry (not sure of the spelling of his name) with his big boy 1500 Vulcan (this is the guy who got sucked into our group ;) ):

Eric and his 2001 Hayabusa (not pictured is his wife who rode pillion the whole trip):

Matthew (that'd be me!) on the bad Rad:

...or maybe I was just on the centerstand.

My Aerostich suit worked wonderfully. Despite the 75 degree temperature and full-out sun, with all my vents open I was absolutely comfortable. The poor suit has a lot of bug splatters on it now!

Also, Kerry works for the university, as well, and all but offered me a summer job. Which means more money and more riding! :kicking:

Before the ride, I caught up with a BMW rider who was gassing up at a station on the way back home from campus. Turns out he just rode over from Seattle, enjoying the great weather. Wish I had the time to take a nice 300 mile trip like that! I chatted with him a bit about good roads, my suit, his bike, my bike, etc... then a local police officer came up and started chatting with us about his BMW and the BMW rally in Idaho.

It's days like this where being a motorcycle rider cannot be beat. 8)

That's awesome how the group is a mix of cruisers and sportbikes! Wish we had more of that good karma around here.

Sounds like a great ride. Next time double the miles and cut the bs in half. :D

It's not the bike but the experience.

Man, I still hurt from the ride... I've been averaging probably 80 to 100 miles every other day, and doing 70 MPH on an unfaired bike really takes it out of you!
