Questions about dropping the bike

The damage will depend on if you have a crash bar and how hard it went down. My sister dropped her bike and had to replace the gas tank, shift lever, handle bar, left grip and lever, left turn signal, headlight and...I think that was it.... Well over 1K.... all of this could have been avoided by a pair of $200 crash bars. Remember depending on the bike (cruiser) it's atleast 500 lbs going down!

I've got about 30k and I have never dropped my bike.

Would this REALLY cause a bike to drop? Why and How?

Not putting a board ('foot')under the kickstand on asphalt on a hot day.

the foot they are talking about is some kind of anchor so the stand doesnt dig in to mushy ashphalt. once it dig into mushy pavement it's easy to go over

Although in the absence of special 'feet' or crushed coke cans (beer cans also work) your foot will do!

Januarys 'Crash' edition of Two Wheels Only featured an interview with a guy called Ron who in 4 decades of constant riding in all weathers has never crashed or dropped a bike.

The interviewer who went out with him described the experience as "riding with a very fast copper"

So yes there are people out ther who never drop a bike and never crash. I just don't know any of them.
