choke cable replacement

#1 Unread post by Gnarlyroad »

Riding an 83 honda 650 nighthawk. My choke cable broke the other day leaving me with several ?'s. Is the 650 noted for difficult cold starting.( won't start without using the choke) Once it warms up starts everytime no choke. Also my clymer manual in one place says I have to partly disassemble the carbs to remove the choke cable in another it says to just loosen the holding screw and remove. Huh. Which is it . Would like to know before I get parts stripped off and then find myself stuck beyond what I can do. Thanks for any help.

I don't know that exact bike (if i've worked on one I don't remember exactly)

But you should be able to replace the cable without taking the carbs apart. Just be sure you have the cable routing proper when you put the new line on.
