Need help adjusting Fuel/Air mixture

I'm new here And I hope someone can help. I have a 2001 Honday Shadow Spirit 750. I added Cobra Streetrod Slashdown exhaust, and also re jetted the carb with Cobra Jet kit. It is the recommended Jet kit as per Cobra themselves.

My problem is this. I cant seem to find the sweet spot. I'm either bogging down while eccelerating, or i'm bogging down while leveling out at a cruising speed (say 50 MPH)

The manufacturer says to slightly seat the adjstment screws and then back them out 3 turns. At that point I am hesitating while eccelerating. Any help would be great on this topic.

If anyone has any thoughts plz let me know. I hope this is fixable......................I would hate to haver to take it to a dealer for something this silly.[/url]

I have done hundreds of these kits on these bikes and never had a problem. Three turns out is pretty standard and should not be the problem. Make sure you did not pinch the diaphrams when reinstalling the covers. You did change the main jets, right? You would be amazed at what some of my customers thought were the main jets!!
The kit is pretty explainatory and usually do not have to be fiddled with. Just double-check your work. Manifold clamps tight, airbox on tight, etc.
You may need the carbs synched. Pulling them off the bike and tinkering with them can knock them out a good deal.
CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE REGULARLY!!!

I appeciate the response. I am alomost 100% sure i have done the correct jets. Ther thing is this, If i put all the air filter stuff back on, I cant reach the adjustmant screw on the right side.

I had the bike out yesterday and kept stoping to adjust the air mixture. Took me about an hr of this, and I still cant get it. Perhaps you (or anyone) would have a link to a pic, or a diagram of the carb or the process?

It seems that the original 3 turns out was really bad on excelleration. Thats when I started messing w/it. The popping stopped, and the bike seemed to idle correctly when cold started. I'm kinda confused, and am beginning to think that this was the wrong idea.

One more thing. When I took out the carb, there are vacuum hoses on top. Both tee in very close together, but the other end doesnt seem to have a spot for it. Is this supposed to be like that, or am I not seeing something? Could this be my stupid problem?

I dont know about the shadow, but maybe the vacum line goes to the petcock.
