Any opinions on best pipes?

Hey gang-----A newbie here! To riding as well as forums! 50 yrs old, just started riding in 04, and on my 2nd bike, a V Star 1100 Classic. I want loud pipes! I bought a set of Cobra Lo-Boy Staggered last year from somebody who thought they were too loud for her bike. Wouldn't have been my 1st choice, but for $100 I thought I'd give it a try. I want a "nastier" Harley-type loud (can't afford to upgrade the bike right now, but I can upgrade the pipes!) & I think I could do better than the Cobra. Vance and Hines doesn't make a full-system for a V Star 1100. I'm leaning toward Bub Big Willy or Samson, but I think I'll go to dealers on nice Saturday mornings & listen to some pipes on V Stars. I know "the right kind of loud" is really a personal preference so I'd like to hear a few bikes if I can.

Anybody have any opinions on Bub or Samson, or anything else that you've heard on a V Star 1100 that you liked? Also the quality of Bub and/or Samson. My preferences, #1 loud!, #2 performance. When I go out, I go for a ride, not a race! Thanks. Jim

Its a pity they don't make the Vance & Hines for your bike. Just had a set put on mine in March and they sound amazing.

I asked a similar question when researching my pipes and there were some good things said about Samson.

Stay away from Samsons. Bubs are alright.

Thanks for the replies. I've heard mixed "reviews & opinions" about Samson. Have heard good reports about Bub. What don't you like about Samson's?
