Proper Tie down for a flat bed utility trailer

#1 Unread post by King Frog »

A coupe questions here.

1. Can you trailer a 97" bike on a 4X6 trailer if you go corner to corner?

2. What is the proper tie down methods.

Many buy bikes and want to pick them up with those $500 ramped MULIT PURPOSE utility trailers you find at Lowes.

Rather then buying an 8 footer. The 4X8 seems like a nice choice. Anyone see an issue with that?

Math mmm.

a²+b²=c²

1. a 4x6 trailer is only 86.5 inches corner to corner.

2. Use strap -type tiedowns - ratcheting ones are best. You can tie down the handlebar, or wherever the straps won't interfere w/ paint. (You can alsu use soft cloth to protect the paint.

The 8-foot trailer is cool, but not if you are never going to use it again. For a one-time use deal you can rent a trailer or borrow one.

Just remeber, it starts with a bike. Then comes the quads. Then the dirtbikes. And a bigger trailer means more of them stuffed on there at once  .

Rent it if you're never gonna use it again. What kinda vehicle are you towing with? If it's a car/SUV/no bed, but you have the hitch, go for the trailer. Never know when you'll need the towing capability.
