Yes indeedy , being as low as it is , my bike with the forward control bracket which I liken to a Paul Bunyon bar almost pivoted me off in one of my first turns because I was used to leaning a great deal more . Had to learn new leaning techniques

only way you can work on your cornering skill is to either A) go to a track day, or B) find a nice twisty road and ride it over and over again at a comfortable pace, dont intentionally push it, just ride at a comfortable speed. the more you do it the more confident you will get in the bikes handling and your riding, and before you know it you will be dragging pegs.

I would also highly recommend getting your tach fixed. They are really handy to have.
