Engine siezed....
I'm not gonna bother looking up his bike, but you can bet it is air cooled. It over heated and the piston jammed in a cylinder. Worst case it totalled the engine. Best case not much harm done but it was still harm.
He probably could have pulled the clutch lever and unlocked the back tire... but he paniced and all told was probably right to just slide it to the shoulder.
Running at redline for 10 min. (i.e. max power) is not a wise idea for most motorcycles (and air-cooled bikes in particular). They are not designed to put out max power continuously. The occasional burst of power is fine, but if you max it out and just leave it there, you're asking for trouble.dieziege wrote:Engine siezed....
