I need more!

Only thing is, I'm talking about protecting a bit of male-specific anatomy... it's kind of a touchy subject, but... How do you guys protect your bulging laryngeal prominence while riding? Mine is OK on short or low speed rides, but on long rides it really takes a beating. My gear is OK for the most part, but it leaves that bit pretty much uncovered... which means every flying insect, loose stone, and blown grain of sand is drawn magnetically straight towards it.


Also, how many of you have been deafened by wearing foam ear plugs? My right ear seems to be jammed up and I can barely hear with it... and the only thing I can think is I've been wearing those ear plugs more in the last few days than I ever did before. My left ear is fine.

i've had my ears plug up from foam earplugs, it just pushed some earwax in real far, run hot water from the shower in your ear and it should float it out, i use the rubber reusable earplugs, come in a little case and they're attached by a rubber string thingie and i don't have a problem with them messing with my ears.

Not being a smart@ss but maybe you need your ears cleaned out.

After swimming once, I put in foam earplugs to ride an ATV. When I took them out, I couldn't get my right ear to clear. I felt like water was in it but it wouldn't come out. After about 3 days of walking around bumping into things cause my equilibrium was off, I went to the doctor and the got a ball o wax outta my ear the was the size of a small moon. The the water moistened it and the earplug pushed it farther in blocking me up.

As for "every flying insect, loose stone, and blown grain of sand"... I'm glad that's all that's drawn to it while riding. I shudder to think what would happen if something more massive came along.

What kind of riding pants are you wearing? With proper riding gear (not jeans) I never noticed the amount of bugs and rocks flying towards my, erm, more sensitive bits. With proper gear, about half the time I get off the bike I notice there's a still-struggling bee that met my crotch at high speed, left on the seat.

I think I'm going to name myself "Bee Crotch."
