I own Joe Rocket jacket and pants and gave them the ultimate test - pavement sliding. I was amazed at how well they withstood it! The abrasions are not that noticable.

Oh yeah, my body survived quite well too. Impressive.

I've had JR gear for over 5 years now. I just replaced the Ballistic 3.0 pants because the zipper failed and the stitching around the knees blew out and exposed the pad underneath. Pretty damn good performance seeing that I ride on a near daily basis and it's usually in crappy weather. I have a touring jacket for winter wear, a mesh jacket for summer time and a pair of the Ballistic 5.0 pants for year round use. I'm quite happy with it.

Eventually I'll upgrade to Aerostitch gear because it's by far nicer, but the JR stuff is a good deal for it's price and performance. The best deals I've found have been at http://www.newenough.com. I've bought nearly all of my gear through them.

The_Best_Leather is a company base in the UK that sells bootleg copy moto gp leather motorcycle jackets...although their products are bootlegs, the leather material they used are top quality and the stiches are high standard. their jackets also comes with back, shoulder and elbow armour. jacket cost around 75GBP. i purchased a jacket from them 2yrs ago and im very satisfied. i would get one of their jackets instead of joe rockets if i were you.....

I have a Joe Rocket Meteor 4.0 textile jacket, matching gloves, steel jeans, and Orbit boots. I haven't gone down with any of it, but I have worn it in all types of weather for the last year and ten months and it's all holding up well after ~15k miles. The jacket keeps me pretty dry, even in a hard downpour, but will soak through after a while. The gloves are good into the 40's, but require liners for anything colder. The boots and jeans are all-day comfortable and look nice, too.

I've heard that there is counterfeit Joe Rocket stuff for sale in some places. Kinda like those fake Rolex watches you can pick up at flea markets and whatnot.

So, if I saw a JR jacket for reeeaaaaall cheap, I would be suspicious. I also suspect that this counterfeit stuff may account for a few horror stories.

I got a JR Reactor 2.0 Mesh and the stitching does kinda suck... I'm always finding strings coming out.... Knock on wood I havent dumped in it yet, but the armor seems solid.

+1 on JR. I wear the Alter Ego Jacket & pants and like the multiple wear configuration of this model line.

My gear is only 6 months old, no complaints so far on construction. I bought online from New Enough (see URL in an earlier post) - positive experience.

Only niggle JR seem to put a lot of 'branding insignia' on their clothing which I think is tacky.

it is funny that you mention this because as soon as i saw this thread i recalled observing some joe rocket bashing on another board where it was harangued as being poser gear--the race replica jackets and whatnot, which i a not a fan of either.

they have some tasteful/less flashy products though. quality? how the hell would i know.
