Proficient Motorcycling book problem

#1 Unread post by Steelheart »

I've decided to get my motorcycle license over the next few months and get my first bike over the winter. Until then I'm learning all that I can about riding safely, proper gear etc.

Here's my question: Do most copies of Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough have a poor binding? My first copy was loosing pages starting around page 15. My replacement copy is shedding by page 53.

I plan on returning this copy and having them order me a fresh one, unless you all say that the bindings are all like this. These were purchased from Barnes & Noble. Another thought, are there hard bound copy's available?

I'm pretty sure the binding is just crap. The same thing happened to my book, and it has happened to others as well. Just don't lose any of the pages  . Once one page comes out, they all seem to follow.

I got both books 2 or 3 years ago (Can't remember - was right when the book first came out) and Mine still has all the pages, and i've been through both books numerous times ... Maybe it's just a bad run?

My brother and i'd got one. 10% cause the page was falling out. Then it annoyed me and i took it back. I suggest getting a three-ring folder and punching holes in the pages to put it in the folder. Might be easier to read as well.

A three-ring binder was the other idea I'd had.

Thanks for all the quick replies.

I purchased one copy. It's binding fell apart in a week.

I returned it for another copy, it's binding did the same thing.

I took it apart and put it in a 3 ring binder.

A week? It took mine about a day and a half to start falling apart.

The binding sucks... bad enough that I haven't bought the book. I've been to two local bookstores, and pages are falling out of the copies at both.

I read it in the book store instead.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.
