Attn Moderators: Where is my thread?

#1 Unread post by chprout »

The other day, I couldn't get in to post on the "New Pope" thread. AOL was not letting me in, but I have since learned that I can post just fine when I come through by Internet Explorer.

Consequently, I had started a new thread titled "Why is the New Pope thread closed", where I tried to answer a couple of the questions that were asked on the original "New Pope" thread. It was there last night, but this morning my thread is gone.

Can you please tell me why it was removed? I am new to the board and that was my second post. I very thoughtfully wrote out answers to questions about why Catholics do certain things that were asked on the "new Pope" thread.

I deleted what I thought was a redundant thread. Must have been the wrong one, my sincerest apologies.

I'm really urked by this. I am a new poster on here and this was my second post, which I put a lot of time in to addressing some questions.

Don't you read before you press delete or do you just blindly press delete? Mine was the only post so it's not like you had any other replies to read through.

It is Interesting that the original "New Pope" thread was started by a moderator with an opening statement about his participation in the Hitler youth, which is obviously going to be controversial, yet when someone who actually knows tried to comment on it, it was deleted.

Next time it may pay you to read what you're deleting.

Okay, you're forgiven. I'm just venting because it took me so long to write it down.

Hi chprout,

As one of the only 2 who started this site and forum board, I can say that this has not happened in the past. Our moderators are extremely efficient at checking out new posts, moving posts to the proper locations and deleting any "garbage" (which we sometimes get a lot of but it is always cleaned up in immaculate timing). I can ensure you that "oldnslo" did not purposely delete your post, he was just trying to do his job and he made a mistake. I am sure you can understand that we are all human and mistakes do happen.

Please accept my sincerest apologies on behalf of Total Motorcycle and all of our Moderators.

Andrea :)

I read something about 'turning the other cheek' in an interesting book once......

Mistakes happen, but we don't try to purposely mess with people's posts.

Really? I read something about "meeting force with force" in an interesting book once... :whistling: But then I have a thing for reading texts about being a warrior written by old Japanese samurai...
We're the first ones to starve
We're the first ones to die
The first ones in line for that pie in the sky
But we're always the last
When the gravy's shared out
For the worker is working when the fat cat's about
