Why do stock seats suck???

I guess I'm in the minority on this one. I love my stock seat, and find it to be very comfortable.

The stock seat on my Alphasport GV250 was actually very good. Most I did without getting off was about 3 hours though. The seat on my KZ650 is a bit painful after an hour or so, but it is so big I can move around on it easily to avoid pain.

The absolute best seat I have owned is on the 84 Interceptor... it is a Sargent seat. Actually, the previous owner sent the stock seat to Sargent, and they re-do it and send it back. So comfortable! I have ridden all day on it, and I am never sore the next day. I'll admit, after 5 hours I still need to get off and stretch (which is right around gas fillup time anyway).

I haven't been on the VFR long enough to report, but I might have to send that seat to Sargent as well. It is a lot cheaper than buying a corbin, and I think it is well worth the money.

The seat on my Yamaha Silverado is pretty good. I've rode a steady 6 hours with stops only for gas. Nice and soft.
Butt still hurt by the end of the ride. I don't think that the elusive "comfortable seat" exists. Just some are a little better than others. Of course when you have a custom seat built, it better be good for the long hall.
Don't know why someone doesn't come out with one of those gel seats for motorcycles like they have for bicycles. Instant millionaire!

If I had a Suzuki, I'd bid on it. Do you know if it's made for any other bike?

When's the last time you put 80 miles of straight riding on a dirtbike (no stopping, no jumping with your "O Ring" hanging in the air, 80 miles with your "O Ring" on the seat)?

Dunno if anyone else offers it. I bought the studded version straight from Suzuki for my dad's bike. It lowered the seat height more than an inch, is shaped far better, and has literally transformed the bike from a 1/2 hour errand bike to a full-blown touring bike. Total cost for all three pieces....$215.00! That's what I paid for my passenger pillion alone!

not the best pic, but look towards the middle , guy in white shirt, kinda hard to miss. That's a dirt bike...
