So I called up the local Yamaha Dealer for new tires on my '82 Maxim, and he said he had a great deal on Qualifiers, $75 rear, $90 front. Sounds like they got a good buy on the rear somehow... I was just wondering if these tires are at all suited for my bike. From the looks of it they are the new Supersport tire made even more bad-oring, which makes them completely the opposite of what I want. Just a long life tire for commuting and highway would suit me just fine. Just wondering if I should take him up on the offer or maybe go for the Kendas instead. Thanks for the input and if you have a prefered tire for my specs id appretiate any input as well.

If you want long lasting tires good for commuting, get long lasting tires good for commuting. But there's little doubt, that'd be one of the grippiest Maxims on the road
