Dealership issues

So I have a 2005 GSX-R750 that I bought new, not two weeks latter I noticed the battery was leeking and thus pealing the paint on my swing arm (not the bike was not dropped). So I went back to my friendly dealership, at which point they said its not our problem but we'll try and fix it for you. So they painted over the spot and it looked good for the winter months when the bike was not riden thus not washed.

It is now beatiful here in Denver and i am riding again which mean I am washing the bike again, as a result the paint is begining to peal yet again. The response I got from the dealership is "it is betwean you and Suzuki now" acording to Suzuki this is unture, do to the fact that they send unfilled batteries with their bikes. Now I am presently stuck with a bike that has pealing paint and only 1200 miles....

any ideas how to go about this.

go to the dealership and tell the manager to phone suzuki in front of you. If they wont do that, phone suzuki and see if the'll send you something you can show your deaplership.

Other than that i dunno...

Gixxers come with maintenance batteries? I would go to the dealer and make a stink. Its unfortunate how many motorcycle dealers are scum (not all). If they wont do anything and you have proof it was their fault I would take them to small claims court.

With all this crap about maintenance batteries, it is probably just worth it in the future to get those sealed/gel batteries. You can't beat no maintenance.

do no maintenance batteries have to be trickle charged?

Maintenence free means you dont have to fiddle about with acid, and water levels.

Not that you dont have to charge them.


Though if you can come up with a perpetually self-charging battery....... you're going to be so rich you can buy the moon.

Buying from a dealership

Does anyone know how to find what a reasonable purchase price for a new bike is? I want to buy a 2006 Honda VTX1300 C and I can't get a quote from any dealer. They all say, "Come in with a quote from another dealer and we will beat it by $200...." Catch 22 no one will give you a quote!!

The only valid number I have seen is $7720 on-line from Procycle in MO, I'm in Denver.

Very frustrating to do competitive shopping!!

Can't help you with Honda, but I can tell you I've had nothing but good experiences with Rocky Mountain Kawasaki in Longmont.
