250 sport bike opinions
I couldn't find topics pertaining to this, but if there are, please direct me to them!
Recently I started to look at a good bike to start on. First and foremost, i wanted somethign cheap. I don't care about having a bunch of horses under me, as much as I care about having a great riding experience that I don't have to dedicate my small student budget to get.
So this lead me to the Kawasaki Ninja EX250, abd EX500. I've read that these things won't give all the accel. that you may want, but the handling is pretty kick "O Ring". I wanted to "shop around", but I found that there aren't really that many bikes that compete with the 250.
So am I wrong about the lack of competition? What about getting the 250 or the 500?
I'll probably think of more questions as the thread progresses.
Thanks

do a search for ninja250 or ex250 here at TMW or check out www.ninja250.info

www.ninja250.com
and www.ninja250.net
nice bike, very fast (compared to cars), and reliable
the 500 probably a little faster? but for $2000 more it isnt that much faster.

When I saw this I thought I was going to read 250 opinions on sportbikes.
The Ninja 250 is nice and I hear it is fine for the highway. I only sat on one, never rode it, but it was comfy.

It's relative, in my family there is a BMW 1200 that hauls all the long trips and track days and breakfast runs. Then there is the 125 scooter that my daughter uses to go to college and back and general riding around the suburbs. Then there is a 250 Kymco scooter that everybody grabs for anything and is more than capable on the highway. 250's are great bikes but you have to know how to ride the sport versions as they simply are not forgiving. Check out Hyosung, they are getting more popular around the world and have a 650 cruiser at the price of a high end 250.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

Are Hyosungs sold in Canada? I'm a n00b, and have never hear of them.
I'm certainly not interestd in a scooter. I've already got a 49cc moped, and the agility of a sport bike appeals to me.
I need to pick up some oil for my racebike team this morning, so I'll be asking plenty of questions at the dealership.

the accel on the 250 was good enough for me to get it hauling at 120kmph in no time flat last night when i took my fiance's bike for a spin, and i'm a *ahem* larger rider.
