I got a little banged up, bike got about 800 banged up... fork tubes, left fork leg, pegmount, shifter assy, bars, grip, and windshield. Also had to weld up a hole in the crankcase cover.
Well, being the optimistic type, I really needed to do a few things, that I wasn't going to down a running bike to do. I will be mounting the non-dented tank, the hardbags, longer fork tubes, and the windshield I really wanted, but wouldn't spend the money on when my old one was good.
For fork tubes, I have a set of V65 Forks that I was going to mount on a special gold Wing project... turns out that they not only fit, but they also give me about 3" of lift, and add an air adjustable fork. The hard bags are from an 80 vintage yamaha, probably an XS-1100. I will be shooting them black and running them for now, but over next winter, I plan to cover them with vinyl, and add studs.
So, everything is working out. I have been waiting for this fork leg for 2 weeks, and there was no work around, so I was glad to see it arrive.
