Ya know... it really amazes me the amount of negative Harley comments I read here. I just can't figure out why some (read: not all) of you guys have such an issue with Harleys.

I guess that's okay though... I seem to be developing the same bad taste about sport bikes.

Mikeydude, if whatever bike your riding does what you want it to do and you like it, its good. I don't ride a Harley because they don't want to do what I want to do. As long as you like it, great!

Hey, Mikeydude. I hope you didn't take my joke as a Harley bash. It is meant to be a joke that someone would make the effort to go to Harley, and then buy a bike that isn't a Harley. Orlando Harley has 4 or 5 Japanese bikes on the lot that have been there awhile, I think because people are scared they'll get hit by lightning if they buy them there...

And the dealership puts them right up front, so they are the first bikes seen when you walk in...they just won't sell... One of the guys told me that they usually end up selling them to another bike reseller, again 'cause they don't sell from Harley.

I'm new, but I see a Harley in my future (2-3 years or so).

Your bike has braided hoses and brake lines.
You use cheap gas ( 90 octane or weaker).
You ever repainted your bike an annoying color.
MSF Basic Rider course teaches people to stand up on their pegs while riding.

Braided hoses/brake lines are fine...it is braided hose/brake line *COVERS* that are lame.

There is no such thing as cheap gas. Anyway, the squidly bit is if you use the wrong gas (e.g. 91 in an engine designed for 87).

What is an "annoying" color?

So as long as they win they aren't squids?

You mean the ERC? Cause my BRC never covered standing on the pegs.

BRC... when crossing 2x4s...

It is not really riding around standing on the pegs but it isn't sitting down either.

Oh right. We did do that.

I was thinking fully extended standing on the pegs. We just lifted up a bit so we wouldn't get nailed in the jewels when the bike went up and back down.

It wasn't very much of a lift.
