I personally think cheating on someone is one of the worst things you can do. And if my best friend (of 5 years) cheated on his girl, I would tell her as well. She deserves to know, and if he was a true friend, he would understand the circumstances.

I'm with "Myself002" on this one. It's really not your place to "spread the word" as it were. What I would have done is said to (now "ex") friend, I can't believe you would cheat on her - you should tell her - but if you don't tell her, then I'm not comfortable being your friend anymore. Or something like that. But in a sense, you assisted in the demise of their relationship, and now you want to swoop in and pick up the broken pieces? I don't know - seems kind of weird.

As far as dating her now that all is said and done... well, good luck. You've definitely got the makings for a sticky love triangle here, and with you having to work under this guy - it doesn't smell too good to me. I don't think hiding the relationship from this guy is the answer - that's less like a relationship and more like game playing. If you're absolutely in love with this gal - if you picture yourself raising a family and growing old with her, then maybe it's worth it. But if you just think she's cute and interesting, you might want to just let it pass. But again - good luck.

Cheers,
Loonette

Ah Loonette...such a cynic! Though maybe this will become complicated. Guy dates girl, cheats, guys friend tells girl, girl dumps guy, girl dates friend, girl cheats with ex, friend gets dumped for ex, ex dumps girl. Who wins? Their coworkers, for entertainment you cant find on TV

I disagree... sounds like the weekly plot of most soaps

but anyway back to the original... I'm impressed, there seems to be so few honourable people anymore. The moment he screwed around, he demostrated a huge disregard for her feelings, and if he were to be upset by your dating her, it would only be a fraction of the feelings of pain and guilt he deserves. I say go for it, love comes so few and far between now, its silly to pass up the chance.

If you were here, I'd shake your hand for being a true gentleman, honest and high in integrity.

Wishing you good luck
Andy
