Had he been sentenced to death , he still would have claimed he won . For the simple reason that he then would have attained martyrdom as far as he was concerned .

I'm completely against the death penalty regardless of the crime commited.
For one reason death can not be reversed.
There's no doubt that he deserves death, but we can't apply one set of laws to one set of people and another set of laws to another set of people. The law has to be applied equally. (unless of course your a Senator from Massachusettes with the last name of Kennedy)
To refresh some memories. The state of Illinois has commuted all death sentences after 5 death row inmates have been found not guilty based on DNA evidence. (my number of 5 may be wrong)
In Virginia a man was put to death, but its now believed he was innocent. The state of Virginia has evidence from the case (that may have DNA on it) that they will not release to the dead mans lawyers. Virginia is afraid of the ramifications if he's found to be innocent.
If its true he's innocent it will be the first DNA documented case of its kind in the United States.
It has been said, but not necessarily proven that as many as 60 people in the United States have been put to death even tho they were innocent.

Keep in mind that this guy had a hand in killing thousands of Americans and helped destroy a monumental landmark on the NY skyline...
I don't think that he'll live that long in prison. There's bound to be someone in the same prison as him that lost either a family member or friend in 9/11, or just has enuff American pride that they'll off the son of "dog". He'll never have to worry about getting old in prison, and we won't have to worry about paying to keep this f*** alive.

"It ain't easy being me!"
OK I know this isn't politically correct:
Maine does not have a death penalty. That makes it a good place to live. I don't see much difference between government sponsored execution, bunch of yahoo sponsored killings, and military sponsored killings, or terrorist killings. Each killer does his.her best to make sure the victim dies. Fair play has nothing to do with it. Rules and laws don't either. It is all about killing the guy you want to kill for your own good reasons. Moussawi had the misfortune to get caught. How many people did Saddam send to their death? How many has Bush sent?
Killing is wrong no matter what. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Maybe we should be passing out guns to the teachers? Stop the little buggers once and for all-- nothing like wasting good tax dollars on a kid you just know is going to turn out bad. A bullet is cheaper and hek- it keeps the morgue happy.
I'll take Maine any day over a state with the death penalty- and the crime rate is low up here too.

I just have to say that in the military aspect killing is sontimes nessary. I know that I have had people shhot at me and I returned fire here in Iraq. Now i dont know about you, but if somebody is shooting at you I think you would do the same. But we also have rules of engagement that limits us on when we can fire. It also protects the locals. So I dont want to give anybody the impression that Iraq is all one big free fre zone.
As far as the death penalty I am all for it. I am a firm believer of what goes around comes around. I think people like him(terrorists) should be turned loose in New York City and have the people deal with them. I know people like Saddam and Bin Laden would not last an hour.
