Do you have any lakes nearby with marina's? You could check those out. Usually come with perks like discount boat rentals and girls in bikini's.

My son works at one, that's why I mentioned it.

I just dug out my old school stuff, the other financial aid is FAFSA, its a federal deal. What I got from them is called a federal Pell grant. If you qualify, then a full time student ( 12+ hours) you get $1000 per quarter.
motorcycle class is 4 quarters.

Dekalb tech obviously offers more then MC classes if you want to do something else. Here take a lookey here link

Do you know off hand what you need to qualify for the financial aid?

And, I might get a job as a bench tech at a computer repair store! They called me this morning, and asked me to come in for an interview, so I rode the hour to get there, and went in for the interview. We went over my resume, but he was like "well, you're young, didn't graduate high school, and don't have any formal experience, so I don't think it's going to work." But, I convinced him to let me work for like a week, so he can see that I have enough experience to work there. So I get to make the hour commute there tomorrow and start at 9am. Wish me good luck!

it all depends on what you make per year as well as your parents etc. fafsa.gov is the site and I think this years deadline is already up.

I cant stand customer service jobs. Thats why im glad I work in a warehouse, not to mention I can make more driving around on a forklift than I can doing any kind of customer service job around here.

I was about 3 years into my IT degree before the bottom fell out of the IT job market, that was when I quit school realizing that I would become another person flipping burgers with a Bachelors degree if I finished.

Im impressed, you obvously have people skills if you were able to get them to hire you for the week just like that, not many would. Dress to impress, be on time and be curteous and Im sure you'll do well.

Good Luck to Cam!!!! :righton:

Thanks!

So I went in for my first day today, and I'm very happy about it, and really hope I can get him to let me stay on after my evaluation period thing.

The job is awesome, way better than any job I could hope for. I get to sit in the back of the shop and repair laptops and get paid $24 per hour of labor. I worked 9 hours today, but only got 4 hours of labor because I was trying to get into the flow of things (learn where all the tools are, etc.). Anyway, so if I get to keep the job, I should be able to get at least 6 hours of labor a day.

6 * 24 = 144

144 - 22 (%15 taxes) = 122

122 * 5 = 610

610 * 4 = 2,440

That's $2,440 a month. Which is waaaay more than I thought I would ever make. Even if you take out gas (commute) for $5 a day, that's only a $100 a month. So $2,340 a month... sweetness.

Damn I hope I can keep this job.

Good deal on the job Cam! I hope you can keep it for good. And if you do, then keep in mind that the MC class offers a night course too, only it's a two year program. becuase you go half the days. And it is a great way to learn everything about yur bike. But anyway good luck man!
