Recently bought a HJC ac-12. Very good helmet and I would buy it again. I am not sure the ventilation is as great as my SHOEI (I don't get that hot in it, but I've only ridden in it up to 89 F so far. They also have alot of mirrored and tinted shields for it and nice paint jobs. It doesn't fog though it feels slightly heavier on the bakc of the neck than my SHOEIs. Check on Ebay you can get a new AC-12 for 160 or so after shipping. AC-11s going for under 80 bucks (before shipping).

Nolan is a great company with some really nice hemets - might want to give them a try-on.

I have been told by tons and tons of people that Nolan is the best, the top of the line helmet.

Only one place around here carries Nolan and they only carry flip up helmets. I'd love to give one a try but I'd want to try it on first!
I went ahead and ordered a HJC AC-12 online. Should be here in a day or two. I've tried it on and I like it quite a bit, so hopefully it'll serve me well.
And I'm sure it's not as comfy as your Shoei because Shoei helmets are...'spansive! Hence the "if money wasn't an issue I'd grab an Arai RX-7 Corsair" but then again it IS an issue!!

I find Shoei to be the most miserable F#&ing p#&$*@ *$#& F*#&$&#(@ $#&@*ing #*&$#@ helmets around. I usually wear an XL/XXL, but even their XXXL is GETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFF torture.
Of course, that's me/my head... your head may vary.
