I can understand how you would think that, but you should wander into a Harley-Davidson dealership and take a look at the advancements they have made in the last 5 years on many of their models. You would be shocked. Have you seen the new Street Rods for example? They have also been steadily improving every model including their price-point sportster line, even the big 4 have problems up dating their price point models.

Sure they have some heritage models, but they still sell as many Harley-Davidson riders appreciate the heritage and style of those.

When I was in the military, a guy in my unit bought a harley duty-free overseas and picked it up at the factory (took leave and rode it cross-country back to base). I don't know the specifics reguarding money saved but reportedly it was quit a bit.

...not lookin to start a war, and I have nothing against taking a shot at Fly-boy, just feel this needs to be addressed.....

Does this leap of logic mean that everyone who rides anything that's not a Harley is only riding thier non-Harley bike because they can't afford a Harley? Cause I find this sort of statement as offensive as most Harley riders would find 'all Harley's are slow, leaky and outdated'.....

And that is not all I got say on that subject.

NO I am not trying to start a camotion I was just going of from experience from being around a while and dealing with people. Those that usually dump on a piticular item or product is becasue they are invious (something that they cant have) of that item in this case the product line of Harley Davidson. If you know anything about my you would understand that i did spend my time on Kawaski, Honda and Suziki in my life infact I raced motocross for Kawi and Suziki when I was growing up. I dont have a problem with other makes of bikes. The problem I have is thoses people that bash on the bikes that others have or desire to have. Some poeple like me have always had the dream of owning a Harley and have like alot of people could not afford but now I can so I am getting what I have always wanted.
if youread further it explains how i can affford it. I always new that the military would allow me to get what I wanted. but it did take me 18 years in it to get it but 16 of those years was talking the wife into getting of the check book enough to buy it becasue of the price.



And going back to what FREEBIRD stated Yes I am getting mine the same way and to give you a Idea about how much I am saving it is close to 2 grand on what I am saving because the cost is a grand under MSRP and plus there is no dealer markup and no TAX. And the good thing is I get to pick it up at my home town Harley Dealership.

I understand there will be ONLY fuel injected and NO carborated models in 2007. All new exhausts are also model specific (Screaming Eagle has given way to EPA standards as well)
They already hade 95 cc and even 103 engines as either an aftermarket or CVO, so a model line carrying the 95cc would make sense.
Harley has a long tradition of trying new items (fuel injection, belt drive, 5 speeds, 6 speeds, etc) on a single model line before branching it out to other models.
I think they need to put the new Revolution engine from the V-Rod into thier big Gildes (Hydro-glide?) and take the undisputed "King of the Road "title back from Goldwingers!

Always look to the Harley-Davidson CVO/Screamin' Eagle models as that is HD's testing models for new technology. Whatever appears in them will float down into the production models. All 2006 CVO models used fuel injection, no carbs. http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2 ... vidson.htm


If Harley-Davidson does indeed make ALL their models fuel injection, it will be the only major motorcycle production manufacturer to achieve that for their entire lineup. They can do it, but will they?

Do you really think they'll dump the carbs on the sportster line? The 1550ci powertrain wouldn't be interesting. I wonder if they'll upgrade the clutch.

I think it is a very definite possiblility...for efi on all models. Except the sportster line. I really think that they are close to efi on all the models across all platforms.

hey BUZZ....then I am a confused person or what? I ride a big HD touring model...and also own and ride a Honda 250 scooter....????I am messed up or what?
