yeah, when we finally got hit with 100 degree temps i finally decided to put away my leather for a textile mesh jacket. The only thing that bothers me is the mech warrior look.

I'm sure sweating beats any burning skin rash tho, Verm.

If anyone questions why you wear a jacket in the heat, just tell em it'll keep you from drying out in the sun.

As for the dark side thing, you already fell for that when you bought a red and black bike.
One thing you can count on: You push a man too far, and sooner or later he'll start pushing back.

42c (108f) was the hottest I rode in last summer covered in cow and I never once considered anything less.

Sweat is more easily replaced than flesh.

I've been known to keep my neck snap done up and zip the zipper down about 1/2 way, but usually if I get to hot I just zip off the outside panels and turn my textile into a mesh jacket and I'm good to go.

I wear my lined jeans every time I ride as well, despite the fact they're fleece lined and FVCKING hot in the summer. I'll be getting some new ones soon.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

like your's and KC's new sig.

but i think the it would even better w/ you guys being blurred w/ the background looking normal.

anyway... im still weairng my spine protector when im riding w/ my jacket. so im pretty much covered since my jacket doesn't have chest armor anyway.

i think it's good enough for streets... but like i said, i only open my jacket on streets... when i hit freeways, i always close it.

the problem is that an open zipper can allow the jacket to be torn away from you completely opening you up to all kinds of fun things like road rash and flying gohpers... shudder.

And blurring the bike just sucks as a pic.

Yes, I may have been doing 3X the speed limit through this curve, but you cannot see my speedo so it's okay. Forest, the person taking the pics couldn't keep me in the frame.

This is Forest on his VFR doing about the same speed as me. I've used my camera a little more then he has, so it was easier to get action shots, but still facking tough to keep anything in frame. I either need a more expensive camera, or slower friends haha

No you aren't covered.

This isn't a video game... you don't get an armor rating.

Points aren't going to be distributed from your spine protector and elbow pads when you're sliding face first into a curb.

Nor can you execute a midair ninja roll to position yourself for the best landing as you fly off your bike.

ROAD RASH IS FAR HOTTER THAN KEEPING THE DAMN THING ZIPPED!

Buy a jacket with a mesh front. You get the same airflow as wearing no shirt. Then in the winter (if you're like me and don't want to buy a winter riding jacket), wear a windbreaker underneath and wool under the windbreaker.

I mean come on! You crashed before didn't you? You should know this stuff!

And that's not a personal attack. I've crashed too and I've been tempted to ride with less gear, but it's not worth losing the meat.

Edit: Oh wait, I lied. I just remembered I actually did ride in no gear (other than boots and gloves) and a skateboard helmet once... but that was on account of a lady... and it was at night with low traffic... and excuses excuses, I'm a hipocrite. Ride in no gear I don't care

Yeah, it can. You could also high-side into the waiting arms of Angelina Jolie, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen. Too many people here worry about too many statistically insignificant things.

Unzipped even halfway, as soon as you hit the ground its going to yank it open. If you're sliding feet-first, you may end up with no upper body protection at all.

And I think the siggy would look best with the background blurred, but the bike perfectly clear. I dont know if you photoshopped it or the pic was just blurry to begin with.
