during this past few weeks...

whenever i ride w/o using the highway/freeway... i don't close my jacket. it feels much better this summer heat.

and when i just wanna get gas and check my tire pressure (gas station is practically my next door neighbor, 2 house distance away), i get tempted to ride in just my house clothes, which is pretty much t-shirt, shorts and flip flops. i haven't done it though, just get tempted each time.

but the jacket thing... i always leave it open when i just use the streets.

anybody else riding w/ open jacket on the streets?

the jackets can be left open a little bit (sternum) and not ride up or come off during an accident as long as you keep your wrists done up and even snap the collar tight.

not as perfect as having it all the way up, but better than no jacket.

partially zipped leaves you open to having a bee/wasp/nasty flying gopher jump in there and start causing havoc, but still not a huge worry unless you are allergic to flying gophers

I'm happy with my mesh jacket... even for short trips it really doesn't warm me up much.

You're just a squid at heart verm. Go with it man.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.

proper gear, huh? Is that like having an Arai hanging from the helmet lock as you ride? ;)

Once your ears stop bleeding... you gotta admit that 'gasolina' song is pretty catchy.

Yo quiero mi gasolina.. gasolina.. lina.. a ... :rocking:

two words for ya Verm.

Perforated Leather. almost as breezy as a mesh jacket, but all the looks and protection of leather.

of course a mesh jacket might be nice too.

im looking for a perforated leather jacket myself right now.

so far, i haven't had any bee or wasp attacks.

i hope i don't deal w/ them.

the only insect big enough to notice that i hit was a butterfly.
