what are you doing......You need to sit still, your all over the place, your off the seat when you dont need to be, lean with the bike, use your tires, allso your not riding and folowing a line,

I dont know how fast you were going but you dont have to try and drag your knee, when your on any road, let alone at 60 mph, sorry I couldnt watch that and let it go, this is constructive critism, but you probably wont listen to me or anyone.

when i get another chase vid, that's when i'll ask for tips.

this vid is not good to critique. you can't see a lot of what's really happening.

Well, I can see enough to know that you didn't have to move over on your seat at *all*. You seem to be obsessed with "dragging knee". Try to focus a little more attention on what the bike is doing, not how far you are hanging off the seat.

You should be able to carry much more speed than that without hanging off (or trying to). You can actually turn by using the handlebars and leaning your body you know... you don't have to actually hang yourself off the seat to turn. ;)

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, and I'm not saying I'm an expert... but it sure looks like you're doing way more than you need to be doing for what appears to be relatively slow riding.

hanging off the bike might not be useful in the streets but it is useful on canyons and twisties.
Even near the end of the video you're working your body way too much and the bike not nearly enough. You could have done that whole thing even faster if you'd not shifted on the bike at all and instead just leaned. Those things are meant to lean like crazy, and it doesn't look like you've got it tilted very much at all (not like I can speak about good leaning or anything :P). I think you need to go back and do the entire thing again without shifting your weight on the bike (other than getting a butt cheek over every once in a while) and work on your lean.

Just because you're going faster on the same stretch of road doesn't mean you're leaning more. You could be gunning it more in the straights, and you very well may be turning faster, but you're having to put waaaaaaaaay too much effort into it. It should take you pushing one of the bars an inch or two to accomplish what you're doing when you get your entire body off the bike...

As for putting music to it, why would you want to do that? I'd much prefer to hear the sound of the bike (although getting rid of the wind would be nice).

Nice suit btw :)

Not jerky, that's constructive criticism! +1 to pretty much everything he said.

actually, i don't pay attention too much when im hanging off the bike. since i do it a lot, it's become almost natural.

like i said... the part where im conciously trying to work on is my elbows. that, im paying too much attention and im still working on making it automatic.

anyway... im sorry, i just can't agree that hanging off is something i must not practice. it really helps me steer the bike better. i read it in a book, other people said it, and i experienced it myself. it really helps.

Eh, I think it's cute, you try so DARN hard!
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Worry about it when you get to the track and you actually start taking corners fast enough to warrant hanging off the bike. Trust me on this one, if you do a track day with decent riders and you spend all your time hanging off the bike when your ride is still aimed almost vertical...you're going to get some laughs.

If you were hitting those corners 50% faster and leaning the bike, THEN you move on to shifting your weight. It shouldn't come first, it should come second...

What do you mean by "steer the bike better"? Better than who/what?

Objectively it seems as though you aren't going particularly fast and you aren't steering particularly well. By that I mean that you aren't really following a good line through the curves, and you aren't really holding much speed through the curves either. The video may be misleading though.

What do you have in the way of mounting gear for that camera? My front suspension will likely be rippped apart this weekend but I could ride chase before/after that... perhaps do Glendora Ridge Road. Heck, I could rig up a mount clamp of some sort if that's a problem.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.
