nope, haven't gotten $450 yet to buy the M4 slip on.

but i thought you don't need a power commander for just a slip on.

Even with just a slip-on you need to change your fuel injection maps. I am not sure about your bike's computer, but sometimes the stock ecm can be mapped, other times you have to purchase a separate ecm or race ecm.

EDIT: I should say with many slip-ons you need to remap... not all.

Better explaination

Any time you change the exhaust you SHOULD map the air/fuel mixture to it. It doesn't mean you "have to" do it, it's not like your bike will blow up if you don't, it's just that if you want it to be optimized the remapping needs to be done. Any unrestricted pipe will backfire with the stock map, there's nothing that can be designed about a particular pipe that would keep it from backfiring if it's a straight-through design.

And... many times if you add a new pipe and don't remap you may actually lose power by not optimizing the air/fuel mixture.

i guess i should dyno it before and after, then i have to make sure they can remap it w/o needing a PCIII just in case. otherwise, i'd wait on getting a slip on... PCIII is another $300.


i wouldn't mind it backfiring every now then if im not losing power at all.

im more concerned about getting rid of the cat converter and louder sound... the stock looks fine to me but the M4 just looks a little better.

Dude. There's something to be said for appreciating what you have.

Not too long ago you were asking for advice on buying your next bike - What should you get, should you get a car instead, you don't have a secure job, etc etc.

Why not get the bike paid off, then think about spending more money on it? You only consider a motorcycle good for riding canyons and stuff, so essentially to you it's a big toy. Don't you have more important priorities than your toys!?

It's not shiny enough.

It won't be shiny enough til he has more accessories than anyone else, it shoots more flames than anyone else, and he manages to drift it around corners in the canyons.

Then he will be bored and move onto a new obsession
