We've got a guy that works on the same post with a yellow sport bike with a huge painting of Jesus over the tank and bible verses written elsewhere.

Not my thing, but if that works for them or makes them feel safer, I say go for it.

We all like to customize our bikes.

I like the idea of a new paint job.

Mysta likes the idea of cutting things of his bike (waiting for more updates on his projects!)

Verm likes to make his bike look faster

So this guy wanted to express his faith through his bike. That's cool. Let's be honest, that bike didn't start as looker but he made it into something that at the very least reflects the strong inner spirit of his owner.

I say rock on biker christian dude, rock on.

I dont like his bike, and i am very religious, even had a custom mural of three crosses over the rear window in my old car. Its just not how I would have done it and such. But I also dont like old wings, lol. The bike may not be designed to convert nesisarily, but you can bet your own bike that other bikers ask him questions about it and respect the custom work that goes into it. and that likely helps him develop friendships with bikers at shows he may go to, or in general. you dont convert running around on a jesus'd up bike, but you get conversations started, and good evangelists rather that you just be their friends, and see how they live, then if you think you might like to know a thing or two you answer. This is a conversation starter, and a fine one at that. I'd spend at least a few minutes with the owner of it, looking at the custom touches, letting him explain what hes done and all. if he's a nice guy and good at networking he'll likely pull out a friend or two from a show or something like that. Its not a plot to assimilate everyone, just a conversation starter.
but I still dont like the bike, stylisticly and all

Yes, there is a Star of David, and possibly the islamic symbol as well. I can't see it very well but it may be one of those "we all believe in the same God why can't we live in peace" thingies (can't remember what it says exactly, but I've seen a couple of t-shirts like that).

And in my opinion the plates just kind of have a pasted on, unprofessional look to it. Plus, I first got the impression that this guy is bats**t crazy. It may just be me, but I highly dislike having people cram their faith down my throat like that. Which is why I can't stand going to the crazy (no dancing, no anything fun, and I stand up and wave my hands singing all freaky-deeky) baptist churches. I had to go to one of those kind of baptist schools for a year, they thought I was satan. Hell, I don't like the traditional church services at my Lutheran church. I was happy with the 15 minute chapel sessions I got back in boyscouts during summer camp.

But yeah, that's a little much on that bike. I don't think he's ever heard the phrase "simplicity works."

Hey all
I don't think the guy that owns the bike is a minister or anything like that, considering he works in a defence research establishment (I don't think we have any padres here). I do also respect all the work that went into personalizing his bike, even if I don't really dig the look of it myself. Unfortunately I've never had an opportunity to talk with the guy to find out what he's about, since I work in a different building (and today is my last day!) Anyway, I hope this won't start a religious flame war...

Dude! You don't even know the guy! When did he try to cram his faith down your throat? Have you never worn a t-shirt, had a bumper sticker, waved a flag or done anything that expressed an opinion/belief that you had? It's not like he's coming to your door every day trying to give you pamphlets.

Umm, no, not really, unless my parents dressed me up in something like that when I was a baby.

Perhaps the closest thing to an opinion on a tshirt I had was when I had one that stated "No Fear", but it was a kid's clothing line that everyone was wearing.

Not that I wish him harm of course.

Would be humorous/ironic in a black way if he were to get into a bad accident and you see the mangled Jesus bike on the side of the road.

Time to move to Antarctica and become a hermit, Monkey. People "cram" their views in all sorts of ways. It sounds to me like you're afraid of something. You need to relax, grow up, and learn to live in a society. And this is coming from one of the most anti-social members here!

Yeah, because we Christians are invincible!

But your anti-socialness is somewhat amusing
