Lots of people have, and a significant number of them have no doubt killed, paralyzed, or otherwise seriously injured themselves and/or their bikes.
Taking a street bike onto public streets with no experience or training whatsoever is ridiculous. Don't, don't do it.

Thanks for your concern everyone.
Anyways, ride went great. Practiced a little in the Costco parking lot. 35 Miles of freeway. Went to a couple friends houses to show em' my new bike. That being said...my nerves are shot. It was pretty intense...but I felt in control and stable.
I wanna go outside and sleep on my bike.

Hey nice GS! The yellow looks good on that bike. I'm glad you made it home safe! I wouldn't press your luck too much tho!

I (and I'll bet everyone else here) think that you, my friend, are phenomenally lucky. +1000 for not pushing it next time.
Anyway, very nice bike choice. Yellow grips are a nice touch.

Heh freeway right off eh? Yeah I'd say that was just a touch intense for the first ride. Congratulations on living.
Now go whup the crap out of the course. Be amazed at all the junk you didn't know how to do.

Well…I did say I had SOME experience. The balance. Brake. Clutch. Gas. It kinda just came back to me.
…but yeah, totally different when you can't put your foot down and whip the bike around. lol
I'm looking forward to the safety course.
...also looking forward to learning how to tune and maintain the bike. Yay for new hobbies.
