+1. This isn't going to hurt anything and it's MUCH easier to do this than take my tank off and a few other parts to get a good shot at my air intake to spray starting fluid. I've never had it be an issue.

On the ninja you need to pull the tank to get at the plugs. :P Haha.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
