Update: New battery this spring and it fired right up... only after i went over everything with a multimeter. ahh well... i loved every minute of it.
I ordered a friction plate kit, 4 clutch springs and a clutch cover gasket for 86 american dollars. bout a week i will make an attempt at the magnificent directions in my clymers manual to complete this task on my own.
I dont believe that i am getting the cluch plates with this kit. just the friction plates. From my understanding though its the friction plates that are what mainly get glazed with the contaminated oil. ive also been told that theres a type of abbrasion cloth that i can get to rough up my plates if necessary
Im kinda hoping that i can just swap out the friction plates give it a fresh batch of oil and adjust the clutch afterwards and be back to riding problem free, the way a nighthawk is meant to be ridden.
From what i have read. as long as i put the plates in the right order i can't go wrong.
Only motorcycle oil from now on. 92 Nighthawk
