Wow.
I'd rent a car before I even *thought* about putting my 6 year old son on the back of a motorcycle for 8 hours.

That would cost a bit more than taking the motorcycle and buying him proper gear.

Why the hell does your mother in law have a say in where you can or cannot take your family? I'd tell mine to go "pee" up a rope(in not as nice words) if she tried to stop me from taking MY family to a family wedding or anywhere else for that matter.
I'd think she'd have more of an issue with the kid on the back of the bike for that long. As a dad, I know I would and I'm not trying to offend you.

I think you should get a vascetomy so you can't expose any more innocent kids to your thought process or gene pool.

Its not her its my wife. Once she gets somethign put into her head its hard to get her to change. Suppose I could just tie her up and shove her in the van lol. Either way no one has answered my ? on the best place to get riding gear. the only place I found is over in europe and they are expensive. $100 just for shipping.

check your local motrcycle dealership for gear. they may only have dirt bike gear that small but you may luck out. dirt bike gear is better than nothing. look in to modding the bike somehow so he can touch the pegs it will be more comfy for him. i am not against what you want to do, but what happens when he gets sleepy? make sure you have rain gear for him. dont try to read directions on the road mapquest tells you how many miles you have to go on a road reset you tripodmeter remeber how many miles that is then a couple miles before pull over somewhere safe and read the directions......I hope this helps

yes it does. With that said my bike is small enough that he can touch the pegs. otherwise I wouldnt even go myself. Never thought about the tripometer. thats a good idea. Him getting sleepy is the exact reason I want the belt. With that said I plan on taking 2 days to get down and 2 days to come back.
