with at least one exception. you can put a vtx1300 final drive in an 1800 and get yourself some better gas mileage, but neither bike is suitable for a beginner anyways.HYPERR wrote:Couple of other downsides of shafties....cannot change final gearing
modern chain drives aren't a big deal maintainance wise. i wouldn't let that deter me from a bike that otherwise was perfect for me.
