thanks for the encouragement! I actually build websites for a living though, so I'm ok in that departmentDennis27 wrote:Go for it man... I did it... its my first website its easy... I'd suggest using Yahoo Site builder... they'll register your domain.. I got the standard package I think its $25.00 a month...-Holiday wrote:As far as I know, there isnt jack here. I wish there was though, I'd join.
Maybe I should start a web site too..
Cool.. I know that hosting and domain reg. is cheaper.. I just needed the templates and everything that Yahoo site builder software offers. I dont have any experience so writing HTML and Java script would have taken me ages to learn.. I'm sure you know all about it.. If thats what you do for a living then your site will look leaps and bounds more professional than mine... I just had an itch and went with it... I think my site will serve its purpose.-Holiday wrote:thanks for the encouragement! I actually build websites for a living though, so I'm ok in that departmentDennis27 wrote:Go for it man... Maybe I should start a web site too..I just have to figure out what to put on it. I'll have to check out your site.
p.s. yahoo is nice for a beginner, but its costs around 5 bucks a year to get a decent domain, and most hosting services will give you all the server space you'd need for $10 bucks a month or so. Its a lot cheaper to just do it yourself.
oh definatly! I hope i didnt come across as negative. Yahoo's services are great for someone who doesnt know code. I just thought i'd throw it out there that with a little bit of knowhow you can save some cash. Learning html is really not hard at all and most other scripts you need can be found on the net. I think you definatly did the right thing though by using Yahoos serice.Dennis27 wrote:Cool.. I know that hosting and domain reg. is cheaper..
