Wow, what a great topic!

Well, why am I here?

That's a pretty easy question as I've been doing this for 9 years now, 5 of those years full time on Total Motorcycle. I mean, if you don't love what you are doing for 9 years, then what are you doing?!?

I'm here because I love helping others discover the joy of motorcycling, the freedom of the road, the extremely brotherhood like friendliness of riders and to really help support new and old riders alike by providing a site that is useful, helpful, unbiased and of course, as friendly as possible. :D

Did you notice "making a poop-load of money" wasn't in that paragraph? It's because I honestly believe helping others is the most fulfilling thing one can do. Not only for them, but for you too. :moose:

I'm really proud of what Total Motorcycle has become and is becoming. But it just isn't me, it's you who have really taken these basic Total Motorcycle values (friendly, useful, helpful, unbiased) to heart and helped mould the site to what it is as well. And I'm really, very much, appreciative of all your support and helping others on here. :D

(Rambling mode on) I often hear motorcycles going by my house while I'm working and think that's another rider out there, really enjoying themselves. I wonder if they know about Total Motorcycle...(Rambling mode off)

What a bunch of great memories, friends, posts, events, everything, Total Motorcycle has given me without asking for not a cent in return. As they say, the best things in life are free.

Mike.

P.S. Background -- I work from 7am to 5pm, 5 days a week (and some weekends too).

I started coming here because of the motorcycle buyer's guides, and the plenteous information on about every make and model I was interested in. I was on the site long before I ever had a motorcycle, and I found everyone in the forums to be helpful and friendly. It's a great place to hang out. I only hope I can be as helpful as others were/are to me :).

These are all great responses!!! I guess the thing that makes TMW so good and what we all have in common is we came to the site because it is a great source of information and is friendly to everyone. Simple formula which works. :salute:

I'm here because Mike pays me very well to Mod the Kawasaki forum. :peep:

Just kidding. Originally, I joined because it seemed very beginner friendly, and that's exactly what I was when I joined. It's also refreshing to come to a web forum and not have 489345 making fun of each other, making offensive posts just to "pee" people off, and asking for pictures of peoples moms. Though that stuff does have it's time and place (don't worry, I keep it to the car forums  ). This place is the nice country retreat to the frathouse/co-ed dorm that is one of the other sites I frequent.

I ended up here after searching for info on beginner stuff, and this place had the most useful info, from bikes, to reasoned explanations as to why, or why not, to do certain things, etc.

And the people are some of the best I've seen anywhere online, and I've been online since FidoNet & longer, you know, when email might take a day or two to get across the country.

I've recently had the pleasure of watching an obvious troll just get reasonable, reliable answers. No one took the bait. And that kept ME from taking the bait.

Love the attitudes here, as diverse as they are, they still mesh.

Now, if that person who has the $50k lying around to give away will send about $10k of it my way, I'd be happy. :)
