i have some lace up redwings, they fit great and I just tuck the remaining laces into the top of the boot.

I would never trust slipons, but having velcro or a zipper instead of laces would be nice.

I agree Mintbread, really good boots are so important. Ankles are so complex and if you damage them they are very difficult to fix, bad enough to break a leg bone, but a smashed ankle would be worse. I think it's better to have boots you can tighten up for a good fit, mine are lace (they can be quickly cut to remove the boots if needed), with a strap to keep the lace ends out of the way.

It was running, but I now have bent fork tubes to deal with (which they didnt catch in the safety inspection strangly enough, Im wondering if they did ANYTHING other then an eyeball check and charge me 80 bucks... *sigh*) mind you I do have some new forks on order through my scrap yard, the rate things are going I should be on the road by the time the snow flies *lol*

I've got a pair of slip-on Harleys that have lasted me 10 years; though it's time to trade up. I was shopping for a similar pair, though I'm thinking of going with lace up's so that they can breath better -- my feet always got bloody hot in those slip on's.
